Most people planning a Disney Springs evening do not think about what they are wearing until they are already out the door. A nice dinner, some shopping, maybe a drink at a rooftop bar. The outfit decision is casual by default, and for most of what Disney Springs offers, that is completely fine.Credit: Erica Lauren, Inside the MagicLEVEL99 is not most of what Disney Springs offers. The newest and largest LEVEL99 location opened recently at Disney Springs, and it is a genuinely different kind of experience from anything else currently available at Walt Disney World. It is a massive entertainment complex built around physical and mental challenges where guests run, jump, crawl, climb, balance, and compete their way through dozens of games. The experience is real. The exertion is real. And the dress code, which has six specific requirements, is real enough that showing up in the wrong outfit can mean not getting in at all. This is not the venue where you find out about the rules at the door.Heels Will Not Work HereCredit: Level99The footwear requirement is the one that catches Disney Springs visitors most off guard. Heels are not permitted at LEVEL99, and this is a practical policy rather than an arbitrary one. The challenge games involve running, jumping, climbing, and balancing through physical sequences that require stable, supportive footwear. Heels create safety issues and flatly do not work for what LEVEL99 asks guests to do.The move for guests building LEVEL99 into a dinner-and-entertainment evening is to pack a second pair of shoes. Sneakers or athletic footwear in a tote bag, swapped out before entering, solves the problem completely. Plan for the shoe change and you will not need to rethink the rest of the evening.Baggy and Bulky Clothing Is Also OutCredit: Anthony Quintano, FlickrOversized sweatshirts and baggy sweatpants fall outside LEVEL99’s dress requirements. The reasons are practical on both ends. Loose, bulky clothing restricts movement during physical challenges and creates potential safety issues in game formats where fit matters. It also becomes genuinely uncomfortable during exertion in Florida conditions. Light, fitted clothing is the right choice here for performance reasons as much as dress code reasons. The Condition of Your Clothing Actually MattersThis one surprises people. LEVEL99’s House Policy states clearly that “Persons wearing torn or visibly soiled clothing may not be admitted at the discretion of management.” The policy is not about fashion. Visibly torn clothing can catch on challenge elements and create safety risks, and management has explicit discretion to enforce the standard at the door. The practical takeaway: whatever you find stylishly distressed for a regular night out may not meet the admission standard here. If there is any question about whether something crosses the line, swap it for something clean and intact.Nothing Offensive on Your PersonCredit: DisneyClothing, hats, jewelry, and visible tattoos displaying offensive language or imagery are not permitted at LEVEL99. This applies to everything a guest is wearing when they walk in. It is a family-friendly environment inside a family-focused destination, and the standard is applied consistently. If there is any doubt about whether something is appropriate, the safer call is to leave it behind.Coverage Requirements ApplyLEVEL99 requires guests to wear clothing that covers most of the body, in line with the standards applied at Walt Disney World’s theme parks. Tube tops, extremely short shorts, bikinis, and similar clothing are not permitted. For a venue where physical activity is the entire point, more coverage is also the more comfortable choice for most of the challenges involved.Open Carry Is Not PermittedConsistent with Walt Disney World’s property-wide policies, open carry of firearms is not permitted at LEVEL99 other than by sworn law enforcement personnel. Florida open carry permit holders should note this before arrival. What This Means If LEVEL99 Is on Your Disney Springs ItineraryCredit: DisneyAdding LEVEL99 to a Disney Springs visit requires some advance thought that a standard dinner reservation does not. The dress code is specific enough that guests who arrive without having checked it may find themselves unable to participate or turned away at the door. That is a frustrating outcome for an experience that requires advance ticket purchase and fills up quickly. The practical preparation is straightforward. Wear or pack athletic shoes. Choose fitted, intact clothing without offensive graphics or imagery. Cover appropriately. If the evening includes dinner somewhere that requires a different outfit, pack the LEVEL99 clothing separately and change before heading in.Advance tickets are strongly recommended. LEVEL99 at Disney Springs is one of the more in-demand additions to the property since it opened, and weekend availability in particular sells out. Walking up without a ticket is a gamble worth avoiding, especially if the rest of the evening is built around the LEVEL99 visit. The experience itself is worth the planning. LEVEL99 runs longer than most guests expect, the challenges are designed to be legitimately difficult for adults and older teens, and the competitive element gives groups something to talk about for the remainder of the trip. It is the kind of Disney Springs addition that changes what a non-park day can look like for guests who have exhausted the standard options.Have you been to LEVEL99 at Disney Springs since it opened?
