Christian Pulisic second-half substitution in the U.S. Men’s National Team’s FIFA World Cup finale has now been determined. Pulisic has reportedly been diagnosed with a bone bruise and microfracture in his leg, The Athletic reported Thursday. The USMNT star attacker will be sidelined for several weeks, according to the report. Pulisic was subbed off in the 59th minute of the USMNT’s 4-1 Round of 16 loss to Belgium on Monday. The 27-year-old looked to have suffered the injury seven minutes prior to his exit after kicking the back of Youri Tielemans’ leg on a shot attempt. He was visibly in pain on the USMNT bench for the remainder of the match as the Americans suffered elimination from the summer tournament. Pulisic finished the competition with one assist in four appearances. It marks the latest injury for Pulisic, who missed the USMNT’s 2-0 group stage victory over Australia due to a re-aggravated calf injury. Pulisic made 50+ appearances in each of his first two seasons with Italian club AC Milan but was reduced to only 34 in the 2024-25 campaign. Despite starting off the season on a flying run of form, Pulisic did not score a goal for the Rossoneri over the final five months. He will now rest and recover before the start of AC Milan’s new season under Ruben Amorim. The former Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United manager has taken over for Max Allegri in Milan and will br Pulisic’s newest head coach abroad. The Rossoneri will kick off their Serie A schedule on August 23 against Torino. Prior to that, AC Milan will face Celtic, Inter, Chelsea and Manchester United in friendly play this summer.
