Romance scammers are some of the apex predators of the online world. My old coworker worked 80 hours a week to send money to a guy she had never met in person. She sent so much money that her bank froze her accounts and she got investigated for money laundering. So instead of wising up to the fact she was getting scammed, she just started sending crypto and electronics. Funny thing is, that was third time she had been catfished by a guy overseas. I don't think she'll ever learn.
