Disney has changed the rules at one resort, allowing guests to bring dogs to five restaurants. Most Disney parks draw a firm line when it comes to pets. At Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, only trained service animals are permitted inside the parks. That excludes emotional support animals, although Disney does welcome pet dogs at a handful of resort hotels.Credit: DisneyWalt Disney World currently offers designated dog-friendly rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Dogs are also welcome at Fort Wilderness campsites, but they’re still prohibited from theme parks, pools, restaurants, and most shared spaces.Disneyland Paris follows a similar approach. Guide and assistance dogs can enter the parks, while pet dogs can stay in select Pioneer and Premium Plus cabins at Disney Davy Crockett Ranch (for a fee) or spend the day at the resort’s Animal Care Centre. Elsewhere in the parks and Disney Hotels, pets aren’t permitted.Credit: DisneyStarting this week, another Disney resort has changed its rules.Dogs Now Allowed in Restaurants at Disney ResortAt Hong Kong Disneyland, guests can now bring dogs into restaurants – as long as they meet certain requirements.Guide dogs that have completed training can access every dining location across the resort, including restaurants inside Disneyland and its hotels. At the resort’s hotels, dogs can enter Star Chart Café, Cloud Dragon Restaurant, Radiant Restaurant at Disney Explorers Lodge, and the Cinema and Art & Design Kitchen at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. The three eligible types of dogs do not require an additional ticket. However, owners must submit the necessary documentation at least seven days before visiting the park or hotel. This includes a valid license from Hong Kong’s Agriculture, Fisheries, and Conservation Department and a certificate from an approved accredited organization. Once Disney has verified the documents, owners will receive confirmation by email.Credit: Jeremy Thompson, FlickrThe original documents must then be brought to the resort for inspection on the day of the visit.Only dogs certified by approved organizations, including the Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association and Hong Kong Guide Dogs Service Center, are eligible. Trained guide dogs must wear a working harness, while dogs still undergoing training must wear a jacket or vest.Owners are also responsible for cleaning up after their dogs and disposing of waste in a sealed bin. Hong Kong Disneyland has designated backstage toileting areas near the Animation Arts Classroom and Royal Banquet Hall. The changes follow new measures introduced across Hong Kong on July 9 that allow dogs in selected restaurants. What do you think of these new rules? The post Effective This Week, Guests Can Bring Their Dogs to Disney Restaurants appeared first on Inside the Magic.
