Malta Fashion Week 2026 officially got underway last night, kicking off a week-long celebration of fashion, creativity and innovation.The opening night brought together leading local designers, international guests and industry figures, marking the start of another edition dedicated to showcasing Malta’s growing fashion scene alongside global talent.Among the evening’s distinguished guests was Fern Mallis, the fashion executive widely credited with creating modern New York Fashion Week. Her visit to Malta was made possible through a collaboration between The Phoenicia Malta and the U.S. Embassy in Malta. Aki Navarro, then presented a collection of versatile unisex cover-ups inspired by Tulum, the Mediterranean and Malta’s coastal identity.Closing the evening was Vanusia Hair Design, with award-winning hairstylist Vanusia Mifsud Vella transforming hair extensions into wearable works of art, blurring the lines between fashion, textiles and sculpture.
