I have no idea why you think this. Laparoscopic surgery is called that because of the the laparoscope, a small tube shaped camera, used as part of the procedure. It has nothing to do with recovery time or how serious the surgery is. Technically they are less invasive then a full abdominal cut because they can use smaller incisions since the dr can see inside with the camera. The multi part surgery I had that removed every single one of my reproductive organs and took numerous biopsies to treat cancer was a laparoscopic surgery. It took most of a day and I was, as expected, out of work for months. Also each persons experience with a surgery is different. I have also had my gallbladder out in a laparoscopic surgery. I had a serious infection and a week long hospital stay and another week off work before I was cleared to return.
