11 HMWSSB managers face disciplinary action for falsely marking public complaints resolved - The HinduPublished - July 10, 2026 07:31 pm IST - HYDERABADEleven managers at the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) were issued charge memos on Friday, after a review found they had marked public complaints as ’resolved’ online without addressing the issues at the field level.The board managing director K. Ashok Reddy said the practice misleads the public and damages the credibility of the grievance redressal system.The board receives complaints through the metro customer care, the official website, and social media platforms such as X and Facebook. Complaints relate to drinking water pipeline leaks, low pressure, sewage overflows, contaminated water supply, damaged manholes, and sewage flowing onto roads. The complaints are assigned online and acknowledged through SMS, and officials are required to close cases only after resolving them on the ground.Mr. Reddy in a stern warning against negligence by officials, said closing complaints falsely will face departmental disciplinary proceedings in the future. He directed the staff to give top priority to public grievances and genuine field-level action.Published - July 10, 2026 07:31 pm ISTSign in to unlock member-only benefits!Access 10 free stories every monthSave stories to read laterAccess to comment on every storySign-up/manage your newsletter subscriptions with a single clickGet notified by email for early access to discounts & offers on our products${ ind + 1 } ${ device }Last active - ${ la }
