Laparoscopic surgery is not major surgery. That's absolutely not true. I just had a laparoscopic total kidney removal this week. That's considered major surgery. Laparoscopy just describes the surgical tools and minimally invasive technique used but doesn't refer to the reason for the surgery itself. The technique helps improve recovery time and lessen post-op pain. I came home the next day and have needed little more than tylenol for pain once home. All in all, getting around and doing pretty well.
