One of the organizations in my area that acts as a food bank actually gets some decent donations from various businesses and schools and the hospital. It absolutely helps that they can accept perishable foods too. But, I know they have volunteers picking up left over foods that they divide into individual servings for people. They also get things like cookies and other baked goods. I realize that not every organization is this lucky. But, again, someone may get lucky if they check out the food banks versus begging online for expensive junk food.
