In fact, only Marcos Senesi, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali have selected theirs, with Senesi taking the club’s number five, Fernandes the number 18 and Tonali the number 16.Other new signings such as Andy Robertson, Jan Paul van Hecke and Martin Dubravka are yet to be assigned numbers.Robertson, from his Liverpool days, wore the number 26 shirt. However, that number appears to have been retired following club legend Ledley King’s departure, with no player donning it since King last wore it in the 2011/12 season. There is therefore a strong possibility that Robertson will need to choose a different number at Spurs.Van Hecke also remains numberless, but having worn the number six shirt at Brighton last term, he could well take that number again at Tottenham, as it is vacant following Joao Palhinha’s return to Bayern Munich.Dubravka, meanwhile, could select any available number as a goalkeeper, serving as a backup option. The number one shirt remains occupied by Guglielmo Vicario, though there is talk that Spurs want to sell the Italian. That could lead to a reshuffle, with perhaps Kinsky taking the number one shirt should Vicario depart, while Dubravka could then choose from the remaining vacant numbers.Spurs attacking targets and shirt number possibilitiesTottenham are working on attacking signings, and having looked at the free numbers from 1–25, here are some that could be selected. At present, 2, 3, 6, 12 and 22 are all vacant. Spurs have been linked with Savinho for most of the summer, and should he join, the number 26 would perhaps be his preference, having worn it during his time at Manchester City. However, with the number technically retired, he may have to opt for another vacant option. The number 22 could also appeal to Kroupi, whom Tottenham have been linked with, with the 20-year-old currently wearing it at Bournemouth.Dusan Vlahovic is another player Spurs have shown interest in, and during his time at Juventus, he wore the number nine shirt. Richarlison currently occupies that number, but it could become vacant should the Brazilian be sold. The same applies to the number 17 shirt worn by Cristian Romero, which could also be freed up if he departs.Vacant Tottenham shirt numbers and their previous holdersNumberPrevious player(s)2Matt Doherty (2020/21 – 2022/23)3Radu Dragusin (since 2025/26)6Joao Palhinha (2025/26)12Emerson Royal (2021/22 – 2023/24)22Conor Gallagher (2025/26)READ MORE: How Tottenham could line up under De Zerbi with all six new signings next seasonThe post Tottenham’s top 5 vacant shirt numbers available to the next big-money signing appeared first on Spurs Web.
