The removal of patriotic decorations from the American Adventure World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT has revealed damage to the main building in the area. Let’s take a look.Damage to the American Adventure Pavilion at EPCOTCredit: DisneyOn July 8, WDWNT reported that Walt Disney World Resort had removed patriotic signs and red, white, and blue bunting from the American Adventure World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. The decor was installed in the area for the 250th July 4 festivities at the Central Florida Disney parks, which wrapped up over the weekend.Unfortunately, the removal of the decorations revealed damage to the tall white columns at the front of the main American Adventure building, home to the audio-animatronic show and Voices of Liberty performances. The significant damage appears to be left behind from brackets used to install patriotic signage on the building for Independence Day.At least one metal bracket appears to have broken during removal, leaving a hole where it was anchored. The others remain lodged in the white columns. Sticky adhesive lines also mark where the signs connected to the columns, and some paint clearly came off when Disney cast members pulled the signs away.Construction Permit Hints That a Fix Is on the WayCredit: Steven Miller, FlickrAlso on Wednesday, Walt Disney World Resort filed a Notice of Commencement for “general construction” at 1776 Avenue of the Stars, the approximate address of the American Adventure World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. The permit lists the Tecta America Corp./Tecta America SE as the third-party contractor for the project. The company describes itself as “America’s top commercial roofing contractors” on its official website. However, Tecta America also works on waterproofing solutions and architectural metals.Credit: DisneyWalt Disney World Resort has not said whether the construction permit relates to the damage in the American Adventure Pavilion at EPCOT, nor has it commented publicly on that damage.Which EPCOT World Showcase Pavilion is your favorite?
