LA firefighters told a woman she couldn’t pass their fire scene. They doused her car when she pushed through anyway

A confrontation between firefighters and a driver in Los Angeles has drawn wide attention online after a video of the incident began circulating on TikTok. The footage shows a woman driving her car past firefighters at an active fire scene, after which the crew sprayed water directly onto her vehicle. The incident took place on Figueroa Street near 93rd Street, where a fire had been burning before crews brought it under control, according to a separate TikTok clip cited in reports.  An eyewitness who recorded the original video said firefighters had already put out the fire but were continuing to soak the area to keep it from reigniting. The clip has sparked debate online, with some users saying the firefighters’ actions were justified and others calling the response excessive. Eyewitness says driver ignored repeated warnings before pushing through According to the eyewitness who filmed the video, the woman allegedly disregarded instructions from firefighters not to drive through the scene. The witness claimed she argued with the crew for about five minutes before ultimately driving past them.  @futbroski67 so basically before i took the video the firefighters were in the middle of the street. they had just finished taking out the fire but needed to spray more water to make sure it didn’t catch on fire again. the lady wouldn’t let them do their job and drove really close to the point where they were forced to step back or else they would get hit with the car. they told her multiple times she couldn’t and she argued for about 5 minutes before recklessly driving past them. keep in mind they’re just doing their job and she wasn’t allowed to go. there are cones blocking the street so cars can’t go in or out but you can’t see it because the car blocks the view when it leaves, this is why the firefighter sprays the car for the drivers ignorance and disrespectfulness toward the firemen as well as her putting them in danger while on duty. The fire is on my previous post to those who want to see it. #viral #fyp #firefighters ♬ Chopin Nocturne No. 2 Piano Mono – moshimo sound design “The lady wouldn’t let them do their job and drove really close to the point where they were forced to step back or else they would get hit by the car,” the eyewitness said. “They told her multiple times she couldn’t pass, and she argued for about five minutes before recklessly driving past them,” the witness added. The eyewitness also said traffic cones had been set up to block the road, which was apparently meant to stop vehicles from entering or leaving the area while crews worked. Per the witness’s account, the firefighter who sprayed the car did so partly because of what the witness described as the woman’s disregard for instructions and disrespect toward the crew, as well as the safety risk she posed to firefighters on duty.  The video shows a dark SUV approaching the scene at night with its headlights on. Two firefighters can be seen nearby, one wearing a yellow protective jacket and helmet, and the other in a tan or orange jacket and helmet, standing near what appeared to be a recently extinguished fire.  As the SUV continued forward, the firefighter in the yellow jacket stepped back. The vehicle then passed directly through the area where the crew had been working. As the rear of the SUV passed the firefighter holding the hose, a stream of water was directed at the back of the car, producing a large splash that appeared to engulf the rear of the vehicle and spray into the air.  The SUV then drove off, leaving what the footage shows as a trail of water and mist behind it. A man in a dark shirt and jeans was seen on the sidewalk watching the scene as the car left. In another case, firefighters blocked an entire street and used their big ladder because a doctor asked for a paperclip. The camera then panned back to the two firefighters, with the one in the yellow jacket still holding the hose. The area where the fire had burned appeared charred and wet, which the footage suggests points to continuing suppression efforts by the crew. The video, captioned “firefighters told her she couldn’t leave because they were putting out a fire and she didn’t care so she got what she deserved ,” has since drawn a wide range of reactions in the comments section. Some commenters appeared to side with the firefighters, with one writing, “firefighters are one of the last people i’d disrespect tbh,” and another commenting, “yall clearly dk how strong them hoses are.” Other commenters were more critical of the crew’s response. One wrote, “Was it unprofessional? Yes. Do I agree with him? Yes,” while another argued, “Not her house not her business. Let her go.” A separate comment suggested the incident could carry legal consequences, stating, “And just that quick that firefighter opened up a huge lawsuit lol.” The identities of the driver and the firefighters involved have not been publicly confirmed. It is not clear from available information whether any formal complaint, investigation, or legal action has been filed in connection with the incident. As of now, no official statement from the fire department involved has been cited in available coverage of the incident.
