Yeah, you're probably right, but even to this day I don't know what I believe. The man I met was so different from the man he described that it felt like he was talking about a whole different person. I know jail can change people for the better, and I really do think it did him, but I also know he had a dark side that he alluded to, even if it never came out with me. It would be too long to explain it here, but he had issues that I'm sure would've shown up in our relationship given enough time. I'd had doubts because of those issues before the sex offender thing came up, that was just the icing on the cake, I suppose.
