According to the police, around 12:45 AM on July 8, a team left the Baruipur police station with Mondal, who was arrested earlier, to reconstruct the crime scene at Suryapur.Mondal is among the three men accused of raping and killing an 11-year-old girl last week.Just as the team was initiating the re-construction of the crime, Mondal allegedly snatched the service gun of one police personnel. He fired a bullet and tried to flee the spot. As the police team returned fire, Mondal was hit by a bullet. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.This is a developing story.
