Infold posted an announcement on the Love and Deepspace Xiaohongshu account that said it will cancel the planned panel and appearance of the game at Bilibili World 2026. To apologize for how this will impact fans traveling to participate in the event for the panel, the company promised to fully compensate people for any losses pertaining to Bilibili World tickets, airfare, and hotel cancellations. The announcement on Xiaohongshu is in Chinese. It started with an acknowledgement of the recent criticism towards Love and Deepspace, as well as an apology. The second paragraph mentioned there will be things like training for the team and handling of the situation while also honoring Chinese culture and history. The criticism that is causing such controversy for Love and Deepspace has to do with Valko, a new love interest. Though he was supposed to appear in the game, heavy backlash towards him as a character and a love interest, as well as concerns about development of other characters and issues, caused Infold Games to back down on this decision and cancel him. This extended to the Love and Deepspace panel at Anime Expo, as the organizers also canceled the interactive activities with the Valko cosplayer. Love and Deepspace is readily available on mobile devices. The panel for the game will not appear at Bilibili World, which will take place on July 10-12, 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, China.
