View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)“The removal works are being carried out without delay so that the site is restored to its original state as quickly as possible,” the authority said, adding that it will continue following the case in line with the applicable procedures.Officials monitoring the works in Marsalforn said the concrete is being removed with extreme care to avoid damaging the underlying rock, noting that no damage to the natural rock formation appears to have been caused.Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri said he ordered the immediate removal of the concrete after being informed of the incident, reiterating that any unauthorised works would have to be reversed.The incident sparked widespread criticism after photos emerged showing concrete spread across the coastal rocks while repair works were being carried out on a nearby pathway damaged during winter storms.Meanwhile, the Coalition for Gozo, made up of Wirt Għawdex, Din l-Art Ħelwa Għawdex and Għawdix, has called for answers from both the Planning Authority and the Environment and Resources Authority, describing the incident as an “atrocity”.Footage via Talk News•
