Samsung Electronics has announced its earnings estimates for the second quarter (Q2) of 2026. The company expects revenue of around KRW 171 trillion ($112.02 billion), while its operating profit is estimated to reach approximately KRW 89.4 trillion ($58.56 billion).The company’s revenue is expected to be 130% higher than in the second quarter of 2025, while its operating profit could surge by an astonishing 1,811% year over year. The growth is being driven by record-high sales of DRAM, high-bandwidth memory (HBM), and NAND flash chips, along with sharp increases in their prices. That means the company’s estimated operating profit for Q2 2026 alone is more than double its operating profit for all of last year.Analysts expect the memory chip shortage to continue through 2027. If that forecast proves accurate, Samsung could continue to benefit from strong demand this year and next. The company has also been signing long-term supply agreements with major customers. Based on analyst estimates, Samsung's full-year profit for 2026 could be higher than its cumulative profit over the past 40 years.The South Korean firm’s semiconductor manufacturing business is also showing steady improvement. It was reported yesterday that Samsung Foundry returned to monthly profitability in June 2026 for the first time in three years. The company has already secured a $16.5 billion contract from Tesla to manufacture AI chips and is reportedly in talks to win similar chip manufacturing orders from companies such as Anthropic and Meta.
