“Iran said the U.S. had targeted railway bridges on the route to the holy city of Mashhad, where the late supreme leader was due to be buried, in the first attacks on Iranian infrastructure in months as tensions escalated between the foes,” the Financial Times reports.“The overnight strikes came as large crowds were gathering in Mashhad for the long-delayed burial ceremony on Thursday for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the opening salvo of the U.S.-Israeli strikes in February.”
