Bakari, a 21-year-old male gorilla, has joined Animal Kingdom as the new troop leader. He arrived from the Saint Louis Zoo as part of a conservation program. Bakari takes over leadership after the passing of Gino, the former troop leader. Gino had led the gorilla troop for nearly three decades at the park. This transfer marks a new chapter for the park's western lowland gorillas.
