The Knesset House Committee approved the proposed Basic Law: Torah Study on Thursday evening for its second and third readings.During the discussion, the committee adopted an amendment submitted by its chairman to remove the second clause of the bill, which had been approved in its first reading. As a result, the legislation will include only the provision recognizing Torah study as a fundamental national value.
