Yoshi and the Mysterious Book Demo Debuts

Following the May 2026 debut of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Nintendo finally released a free demo for the Switch 2 game. It is immediately available on the eShop worldwide. If someone tries it and then decides to buy a full copy, the save file will carry over. Since this is a situation where progress carries over, the Yoshi and the Mysterious Book demo offers a slice from the start of the game. This covers the Mr. E book dropping onto island where the Yoshis live and them heading into his pages to help figure out what kinds of creatures lurk inside and find Bowser Jr and Kamek. People can go through the whole Chapter 1: Wildwoods section, which covers a forest biome with five creatures to investigate in their respective stages. As a reminder, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book doesn’t work like a traditional platformer. Instead of just trying to get through levels, you’re instead exploring more freeform areas to complete entries dedicated to the creatures that call them home. Once a run is finished, you can name them or take Mr. E’s suggestion for a moniker. As an example, the first stage involves a sentient flower that isn’t hostile, and Yoshi’s interactions with it help you learn how it interacts with the character and world in different situations.Go Ad-Free With Siliconera+View the site with no ads, be able to provide direct feedback about what we cover, and be automatically entered into our monthly PC game giveaway.Join Siliconera+ Yoshi and the Mysterious Book and its demo are both available on the Switch 2 worldwide.  We may earn a commission if you purchase from certain links.
