First ‘Atirudram’ ceremony for global peace held in US - The HinduPublished - July 12, 2026 09:02 pm IST - TIRUPATIThe first-ever ‘Atirudram’ and ‘Satha Chandi Yagnam’, which prayed for global peace, prosperity, and spiritual well-being, were performed at Warrenville, Illinois, in the USA by Bhaskara Prakasha Ashram.The team of Ritwiks (scholarly priests trained in performing Homams) from India performed the rituals starting with ‘Gau Puja’, ‘Ganapati Homam’, and ‘Navagraha Homam’, invoking the Hindu gods.Consul General of India in Chicago Somnath Ghosh, Google Vice-President Thota Chandrasekhar and a number of devotees attended the event.Bhaskar Prakasha Ashram’s president Raghu Ranganathan said the organisation had shouldered the responsibility of imparting Vedic education and traditional practices to students and general public across North America.
