Demand for ₹10,000 monthly pension for retired SCCL workers gathers momentum - The HinduPublished - July 12, 2026 09:32 pm ISTPEDDAPALLIThe long pending demand of the retired workers of the State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) for enhancement of the monthly pension to ₹10,000 has gathered momentum ahead of Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy’s two-day ‘Singareni Bharosa Yatra’ beginning on Monday.Mr. Kishan Reddy, accompanied by BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao and other party leaders, is scheduled to tour Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mancherial, and Peddapalli districts on July 13 and 14. The yatra assumes significance in the wake of the Centre’s recent decision to allocate the Tadicherla-II coal block to the SCCL.Meanwhile, Peddapalli MP G. Vamsi Krishna has renewed his appeal to the Union Minister to announce a monthly pension of ₹10,000 for the SCCL’s retired workers during his tour of the State’s coal belt.
