$27 per hour is not happening in the mental health field unless you have degrees, experience and or certifications. When I worked in mental health. I think the most I got paid was $13. This was 10 years ago. I had multiple certifications, which I do maintain because I do some freelance caregiving. I make a lot more as a house cleaner and I do not have my own company. Between my $20/hr and my tips I average closer to $30/hr.
