This is the first year TIME has put together such a list, and honorees include NBA star LeBron James; two-time Olympic gold medalist figure skater Alysa Liu, who made a splash at this year’s Winter Games; and NBA star Jalen Brunson, who helped lead the New York Knicks to their championship victory this year—their first in more than five decades.
