The past week, Nintendo used the Fire Emblem social media account to show off two more characters who’ll be in Fortune’s Weave: Buccaneer and Bonaparte. Both of them are ‌retainers to two different lords in-game. Buccaneer served the father of Leda, one of the protagonists of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, for many years. According to a scene with Leda, he met him over twenty years ago. Because of this, he has a habit of occasionally calling Leda “princess.” Though he accompanies Leda on her quest for vengeance, he has conflicting feelings about it. He likes loyalty, teaching youths with potential, and fantasizing about Leda’s happiness. In battle, he fights with an axe. In Japanese, Takayuki Ishii voices Buccaneer. Ishii previously appeared in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim as Hijiyama. The other character is Bonaparte, who is the right-hand man of Theodora, another protagonist in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. He is a wise general who still fights on the front lines. The Saramis Kingdom forbids all manners of writing, and so he has memorized all of Saramis’s knowledge and history. He likes to memorize history and debating with sages, and he also likes poetry. Bonaparte has served his kingdom since the previous monarch. In battle, he fights with a sword and magic, and he can also use Combat Arts to buff his comrades. In Japanese, Satoshi Tsuruoka voices Bonaparte. A prominent role of Tsuruoka’s is Gilles de Rais from the Fate series. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will come out on September 17, 2026 for the Switch 2.
