I've tried almost everything under the sun... do I suck or am I just missing something?

Wait 5 sec.

Ten years ago, I was really high on the booger-sugar and hurt my own feelings. The next day, I quit the habit (true story) and fell in love with copywriting. I've always had a natural knack for writing but for some reason... It feels like my efforts has failed me. I've studied at AWAI, Barefoot writers, went to Upwork (I'm banned due to someone saying I stole from them), applied to countless of indeed, LinkedIn, and DMs for opportunities... yes, I've had very little success on getting gigs... but... When I do get those one-off clients, I never get feedback and just end up being ghosted. I've tried to ask for testimonials or feedback, and I get nothing... Just a cold shoulder. A few others have told me that I need to start looking for high ticket clients... (no shit... I just don't know where they are). I've spent over $15k learning this but for some reason, I can't find those high paying clients. Upwork, Fiverr, indeed, LinkedIn, AWAI, and other job boards turn me away... Which is weird... I was a CMO for a cybersecurity company... I know marketing strategies... Email optimization/deliverability/segmenting... and almost everything marketing... but still I get treated like a red-headed stepchild. Don't get me wrong, I refuse to give up... but I need you fine folks to help me gain clarity. I know my writing isn't bad... Do I just suck with clients? or what do you guys think I'm lacking? submitted by /u/Relative_Effective23 [link] [comments]
