I'm not seeing the "choosing" part of this beggar. I won't begrudge a struggling young person respectfully asking for a little help. There's no entitlement in this post. Maybe I'm bias, but my mother has been a foster parent since she retired a few years ago and I've learned about the types of environments some of these kids come from. "You're not the only one who suffers", is a bit callous. Any child coming out of that system and going to college, working towards a better life, shouldn't be shamed for seeking help. Let's remember what this sub is actually about.
