In what should be shocking, but likely isn’t, Campus Reform is reporting that “Democrats are vastly overrepresented on the boards of trustees at America’s Ivy League institutions, outnumbering Republicans at a rate of 6 to 1.”This report was originally published by The Buckley Institute, a free speech group.The report “found that of the 233 members of university governing bodies, 155 were identified as Democrats, representing 66.5 percent of the overall group.”A measly 26 people, or 11.2 percent of trustees, were found to be Republican.This is an extremely low number, which yet again shows the bias on campus.“Among the Ivy League schools, Yale was the only institution to have no Republican representation on its governing board, known as the Yale Corporation.”“At least 15 of the 17 members of the Yale Corporation are Democrats, while two trustees are unaffiliated,” the report stated. “Of the two unaffiliated trustees, one was a registered Democrat until recently and has donated exclusively to Democrats while the other has donated twice as much to Democrats as to Republicans.”This same problem was found at Brown and Dartmouth as well, with Republican membership of only 4.3 and 4.5 percent among trustees.Academia remains a tremendous center of liberalism despite claiming to desire diversity, just not diversity of thought.“The University of Pennsylvania had the largest percentage of Republican representation at 25.8 percent.”These numbers are pathetic, and if universities want students to apply, they should represent the full gamut of views of Americans, not just DNC talking points.“Trustees’ political donations also skewed heavily in favor of Democrats. The report found that 206 trustees donated a total of $85.5 million dollars to Democratic candidates and causes, while Republicans received $22.4 million from 112 donors.”“Overall, Ivy League trustees donated a total of $85.5 million to the left and $22.4 million to the right.”These statistics are not surprising, being that universities are infamously liberal; however, this is America, and we shouldn’t have to accept this liberal bias and institutions that don’t represent the views of real Americans.The post Lack of Intellectual Diversity!
