An 87-year-old man has been seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in St Paul’s Bay this afternoon.Police said the incident took place at around 1.30pm in Triq San Ġlormu, St Paul’s Bay.Preliminary investigations found that the elderly man, who lives in St Paul’s Bay, was hit by a Ford Transit being driven by a 40-year-old man from Rabat, Gozo.A medical team assisted the 87-year-old at the scene before he was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was later certified as having sustained serious injuries.Magistrate Renata Farrugia was informed of the incident and opened an inquiry.Police investigations are ongoing.•
