A colt by leading sire Gun Runner (hip 84) set a new high-water mark for the session, bringing $2.8 million from Mahmud Mouni on behalf of Tagermeen Racing midway through the Book 1 opening day Monday.Bred by the stallion's farm in Three Chimneys, he was consigned to the sale by Four Star Sales.This colt is out of Three Chimneys homebred Twenty Carat, a mare who won the GIII Beaumont Stakes at Keeneland. Her only other foal to race is this colt's full-sister, French Blue who placed in the GII Santa Ysabel Stakes earlier this year at Santa Anita.“We are so excited. We put this colts in our plans two days ago,” Mouni said. “I was honestly not expecting that much, but the horse deserved it. The full-brother with Chad Brown is amazing. He is going to run this Friday. Our dream is for Kentucky. So the main reason we bought the horse was for the Kentucky Derby. The horse will go to Chad Brown. We still have some in our plan for the next two hours.
