SureFire's New XC3 1,000 Lumen Sub-Compact Weaponlight

Wait 5 sec.

Let there be light, said SureFire and added the XC3 Sub to its weaponlight lineup built specifically for subcompact concealed carry handguns rather than the larger duty-sized guns most weaponlights are designed around. The fitment chart lists compatibility with the Glock 43X and 48, the Springfield Hellcat, the H&K CC9, and the SIG Sauer P365, using swappable rail adapters to get a secure fit across that spread of frame sizes. It retails for $369. The headline feature is called Dual Fuel operation. With the included SFRCR123 rechargeable battery, the company states the light produces 1,000 lumens and 13,000 candela, which SureFire says is enough for positive identification out to 228 meters in low light. Quite a lot longer than you would fire any handgun. Runtime on that battery is listed at 45 minutes. Swap in a standard SF123A lithium primary instead, and SureFire says output drops to 550 lumens and 7,200 candela, with identification distance falling to 170 meters, but runtime extends to 1.75 hours. That's a real tradeoff between peak output and endurance, and it means the XC3 Sub can be configured differently depending on whether someone prioritizes a hot, long-range beam for a short window or a dimmer light that lasts through more of a range session or a longer shift. SureFire describes the beam itself as a hybrid pattern, combining a center hotspot for target identification with a wider corona for near-field situational awareness. The battery loads from the front behind the bezel, which keeps changes quick. Switching is ambidextrous with both momentary and constant-on modes, and a disable feature is built in to keep the light from activating accidentally in a holster or bag. Construction is aerospace aluminum with a Mil-Spec hard anodized finish per MIL-A-8625 Type III Class 2, and SureFire rates the unit IPX7 for liquid ingress. It measures 2.6 inches long, with a bezel diameter of 0.945 inches, and weighs 2.65 ounces with the battery installed. A rail clamp mount is included, with additional SureFire accessory mounts sold separately. Like the rest of SureFire's lineup, the XC3 Sub is designed and built in the United States.
