Al Green, the same cane-waving, State-of-the-Union heckler Texas voters already fired, has filed yet another dead-on-arrival impeachment resolution against President Donald Trump. The “crime” this time? Doing what the American people hired him to do: enforce the nation’s immigration laws.Green lost his Democratic primary runoff in May to freshman Rep. Christian Menefee by a landslide, roughly 69 percent to 31 percent.As The Gateway Pundit reported, the 78-year-old was booted after more than two decades in Congress. President Trump then dunked on the “lunatic” who spent years screaming and waving a cane at him instead of legislating.That should have been the end of the circus. It wasn’t.On August 24, the lame-duck Houston Democrat dropped H.Res. 1486, impeaching Trump for “high crimes and misdemeanors.” The resolution accuses the president of running ICE and Customs and Border Protection as “vicious, quota-driven, unaccountable paramilitary police forces.”The latest stunt marks Green’s eighth impeachment effort against President Trump, according to the Houston Chronicle. His previous attempts either died in committee or were overwhelmingly rejected.The president’s constitutional duty is to take care that the laws be faithfully executed. Green’s answer is to call the Border Patrol a death squad and demand removal from office.The resolution names four 2026 enforcement encounters, Renée Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis in January, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston in July, and Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero in Maine, and treats those cases as proof that Trump has “devolved” the republic into an “authoritarian regime.”Green even sent the White House a letter calling the filing a matter of “life and death” and quoting Dick Cheney as if that were a closing argument. The letter is posted on Green’s House site.Fox News published the response from White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis:“This type of garbage is contributing to our law enforcement officers facing a more than 1,300% increase in assaults against them. The brave men and women of ICE and CBP put their lives on the line to arrest murderers, rapists, pedophiles, gang members, and terrorists. Al Green should be thanking President Trump and our law enforcement for delivering the largest decrease in violent crime in American history.”Now he’s back to impeachment, and today his office is still pushing an impeachment vote that is not going to happen in a Republican House.The letter reads:“Please accept this letter as a professional courtesy to inform you that I will call for a recorded vote on the floor of the House of Representatives on H.Res.1486 – Impeaching Donald John Trump, President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors. Assuming House Rule IX governing Questions of Privilege is followed, this vote should occur during the legislative business of September 14-17.Regrettably and sadly, this measure is required because of the high crimes and misdemeanors you have engaged in and continue to engage in with impunity. Under your operation, federal immigration officers conducted the unjustified killings of Renée Good, Alex Pretti, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, and Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, as well as terrorized countless other civilians. You are condoning, supporting, and covering up these unjustified killings. The American people deserve more from their leader.”CNN reporter admitted that even Democrat leadership has shown little appetite for making impeachment the party’s central fight heading into the election.Green is scheduled to promote the impeachment effort during a September 14 press conference at the U.S. Capitol.
