U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Mauricio Pochettino rewarded several young talents with a senior call-up on Thursday as the program gets set for its newest international cycle. Adri Mehmeti, Zavier Gozo, and Cole Campbell are three of 13 players that will be seeking their senior debuts over the coming weeks. Cavan Sullivan, Julian Hall, and Mathis Albert might receive a large portion of the attention, but all 13 players will be coming into camp with a point to prove. Goalkeepers Brian Schwake and Diego Kochen will also be seeking to make a splash this camp, especially with Pochettino potentially looking for a new long-term No. 1.All 28 players called in should see minutes over the next few weeks with Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Canada on the upcoming friendly schedule. Here is a closer look at the 13 uncapped players called into USMNT camp: Cavan SullivanA USMNT debut for Cavan Sullivan this window would etch his name into program history. Sullivan will become the second-youngest player to feature for the USMNT, should he earn a cap in any of the four matches. The 16-year-old is less than two weeks away from his 17th birthday, another celebration to what has already been a memorable year. Sullivan has recorded six goals and 11 assists across all competitions this season, helping the Philadelphia Union turn their misfortunes around. The Manchester City-bound attacker remains the USMNT’s top prospect going forward.Julian Hall18-year-old Julian Hall has headlined the youth movement with the New York Red Bulls this season. The versatile attacker has recorded nine goals and five assists in Michael Bradley’s squad, starting in 24 of his 25 appearances. Hall, who is also eligible for Poland, has featured in the USYNT set up and should gel nicely with plenty of his former youth national team partners. With Folarin Balogun not included in this camp, Hall will push Ricardo Pepi for minutes at the No. 9.Mathis AlbertIt’s not the first time we’ve seen an American move up the ranks at Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. Mathis Albert has followed in the footsteps of Christian Pulisic and Gio Reyna in Germany as he now tries to grow into a first-team player. The 17-year-old attacker has made two senior appearances for the Black and Yellow this season, including a 90-minute start against lower-league HEBC Hamburg in German Cup play. A teammate of Sullivan’s at the 2025 U-17 World Cup, Albert is also high on the prospect list within U.S. Soccer.Adri MehmetiThe second young gem in the Red Bulls system, Adri Mehmeti is playing beyond his years.Mehmeti, 17, has started in all 24 of his appearances for the Red Bulls, scoring one goal and adding five assists. A talented passer and creator, Mehmeti is already being courted by several top European clubs for a potential move abroad. Teaming up with Hall on the international level should be a treat, especially given the duo’s production in MLS this campaign.Peyton MillerVersatility is the key talking point surrounding 18-year-old Peyton Miller. Miller can play a number of roles with the USMNT including wingback, winger, and fullback. He’s scored five goals and added four assists in 23 appearances this season, featuring heavily under former USYNT head coach Marko Mitrovic. Another of MLS’ top homegrowns, Miller is also on the radar for a potential European move at the end of the year. Cole CampbellCole Campbell’s move to newly-promoted Bundesliga club Elversberg is paying off in numerous ways. The 20-year-old attacker scored his first senior goal earlier this summer and already has four appearances for Elversberg overall. After making the move from Borussia Dortmund during the transfer window, Campbell looks to be enjoying his football in Germany.Although remaining a potential option for Iceland’s National Team, Campbell has committed himself to the United States, which is great news for the program going forward.Zavier GozoZavier Gozo’s 2026 began with him preparing for a large role at Real Salt Lake but it’s now seen him move to the English Premier League. Gozo, 19, has made a trio of substitute appearances for South London club Crystal Palace as he continues his early days abroad. The 19-year-old midfielder/winger tallied 10 goals and eight assists for RSL since the start of the 2025 campaign. It will be curious to see where Pochettino lines him up with the USMNT. Brooklyn RainesBrooklyn Raines has gradually improved during his MLS career and now aims to translate that over to the USMNT. Raines, 21, is continuing his first full season with the New England Revolution after joining from the Houston Dynamo. A versatile midfielder/attacker, Raines recorded his first club goal and two assists in 23 appearances (23 starts).Raines has previously featured for several USYNT squads and also has history with several of his uncapped teammates, bringing familiarity to the fold.Justin EllisAntoine Griezmann may have stolen the spotlight in Orlando, but Justin Ellis hasn’t been far behind. Ellis has produced one goal and 10 assists for the Lions this season in what has been his first full campaign with the first team. The 19-year-old previously excelled in MLS NEXT Pro with Orlando City B and is now applying his craft alongside Griezmann, Daryl Dike, and others. Similar to Hall this window, Ellis will be fighting for minutes up top the USMNT’s attack. Brian SchwakeBrian Schwake’s first season as an MLS starter could very well see him walk away with multiple trophies. The 25-year-old has been at the forefront of Nashville SC’s impressive run this year, recording 11 clean sheets in 25 appearances. Schwake was a bit of journeyman during the earlier stages of his career, leaving DePaul University to spend multiple seasons on loan in the lower leagues of Scotland. Schwake also made one appearance for Spanish club Castellon before eventually returning to the United States in 2025. Nashville SC head coach B.J. Callaghan has USMNT ties from his days as Gregg Berhalter’s assistant, meaning that Schwake already must know what to expect on the international level.Diego KochenDiego Kochen desperately needed playing time this year and is racking it up in Denmark. The 21-year-old Barcelona loanee has been Lyngby’s No. 1 during the opening weeks of the Superliagen season, logging eight starts to date. He’s registered one clean sheet and helped Lyngby earn results in each of their last three matches, a key turnaround after a winless start. Kochen will join Schwake, Chris Brady, and Matt Freese in the goalkeeping corps this window.Frankie WestfieldThe second of three Union homegrowns called into the USMNT squad, Frankie Westfield is a no-nonsense fullback. Westfield has started in all 21 of his appearances for the Union this year, registering eight assists. Mainly featuring at right back, the 20-year-old isn’t afraid to dart up the wing in hopes of connecting with an offensive teammate. With 13 assists total in the last 20 months, Westfield is quickly becoming one of the more productive fullbacks in MLS.Neil PierreUnion head coach Ryan Richter has trusted Neil Pierre this summer and the 18-year-old centerback has rewarded him big time. Pierre has made 10 appearances (nine starts) for the Union, scoring four goals and adding one assist. Standing at 6-feet-5, Pierre is a nuisance on set pieces and corner kicks, using his tall frame to force efforts on target and also tee him up teammates. After a positive loan spell at Lyngby earlier this year, Pierre is now off to potentially move up the USMNT centerback charts. Who are you most excited to see earn their first USMNT cap this window?
