She was up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her performance as Jenny Kaminski in Peacock’s All Her Fault. She is also nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series as an executive producer of Margo’s Got Money Troubles, which she produced alongside her sister, Elle Fanning, through their company, Lewellen Pictures. That award has yet to be announced.The nominations bring Fanning’s career Emmy total to three. She previously received a supporting actress nomination in 2024 for playing Marge Sherwood in Netflix’s Ripley.Fanning was working in Europe when she learned about this year’s recognition. In an August interview with the Los Angeles Times, she recalled getting the news. “I had just rehearsed and was waiting for them to set up and got the news of my sister and [Margo’s Got Money Troubles], and that was really exciting,” she said. “And then All Her Fault and Sarah [Snook] and then myself. It was just a wonderful surprise.”Her All Her Fault nomination recognizes her performance as Jenny, a working mother whose friendship with Sarah Snook’s Marissa becomes central to the series following the disappearance of Marissa’s son. In a May interview with The Ankler, Fanning explained that the role offered her the opportunity to depict a dynamic she recognized from the women around her. “I wanted to portray women that I know,” she said. “I got to show the struggles that a lot of friends of mine go through, trying to be everything to everyone all the time.”This year has also marked a new chapter in Fanning’s longtime creative partnership with her younger sister. The pair spoke to ELLE earlier this year about Lewellen Pictures and The Nightingale, their forthcoming adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s novel, which will mark the first time they have acted together on-screen.Asked about their biggest goal for their production company, Dakota kept her ambitions succinct: “World domination.”
