We have reached WSL Gameweek 3, there are now SEVEN WSL games every weekend, and once again I am here to answer the most important question facing civilisation: Where on earth is everything actually being shown? And this weekend is rather tasty. We've got Manchester City v Liverpool on Friday night, TWO London derbies, Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal v Manchester United at the Emirates, three simultaneous Sunday games, and enough overlapping kick-offs to make your television remote file for workers' compensation. So, for the UK and Ireland, here's your guide. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FRIDAY Manchester City v Liverpool 19:00 BST UK: Sky Sports+ — Sky 404 / Virgin Media 504 Also on Sky Mix — Freeview Channel 11 And this isn't a bad way to start the weekend at all. City are the only WSL side with a 100% record after two games and have already scored seven. Liverpool arrive with former City boss Gareth Taylor in charge, while goalkeeper Khiara Keating could face the club she left this summer. City have also won the last five WSL meetings between these two. So Liverpool: no pressure whatsoever. Absolutely none. Friday night. Under the lights. WSL before your weekend has even properly started. Ireland: Sky — Channel 142 Virgin Media — Channel 865 Vodafone TV — Channel 139 And we've got our first London derby of the weekend. South-East London v South London at The Valley. It's also the first top-flight league meeting between Charlton and London City Lionesses. Charlton are looking for their first points AND first WSL goal of the season, while London City are trying to respond after losing 2-1 to West Ham. Someone has to make Saturday lunchtime uncomfortable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chelsea v Birmingham City 12:45 BST Sky Sports Premier League Yes, that's 15 minutes after Charlton v London City starts. So your Saturday lunchtime setup is: TV 1: Charlton v London City TV 2: Chelsea v Birmingham Your neck: Wimbledon spectator mode Chelsea suddenly remembered how goals work last weekend and won 5-0 against Manchester United, with five different scorers. Birmingham, meanwhile, were minutes away from their first WSL victory after promotion before Brighton equalised late in a 2-2 draw. It's also the first league meeting between Chelsea and Birmingham since 2022. So if you're thinking, "Chelsea should just win that..." You've just tempted football. There you go. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arsenal v Manchester United 17:30 BST Sky Sports Football Also on Sky One And here's your Saturday main event. Arsenal are unbeaten, haven't conceded yet this season and somehow managed 30 shots against Crystal Palace last weekend without scoring. Manchester United have lost both of their opening matches, conceded seven goals and managed only six shots across those two games. Which sounds like the perfect setup for an extremely sensible and predictable football match. Except... Both Arsenal-Manchester United league games last season finished 0-0. Of course they did. Welcome to football. The Emirates, 17:30, Saturday evening. This is probably the one where you tell everyone else in the house that whatever they were planning to watch has unfortunately been cancelled. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUNDAY Sunday is where things become stupid. Every WSL game kicks off at: 14:00 BST And all three are available through Sky Sports+ via the red button. Both sides won last weekend. So obviously one of them must now ruin the symmetry. South-East London welcomes North London. And neither side has lost yet. Palace just went to Arsenal, faced 30 shots, and somehow walked away with a 0-0 draw. Tottenham have also started strongly and drew 1-1 with Liverpool last weekend. Selhurst Park. London derby. Two unbeaten sides. Both teams are looking for their first win. Brighton rescued a late draw against Birmingham last weekend. Villa had the slightly less enjoyable experience of Manchester City arriving and scoring four. Which means that instead of deciding between the three Sunday WSL matches like some kind of primitive human being, you can potentially have the lot on screen. Find the supported live event. Look for the Multiview option. After this weekend, much of the Premier League and men's domestic calendar disappears into the international break. But the WSL and WSL2 keep going for another couple of weeks.
