Sanas and Shroff to continue at the helm of RWITC - The HinduPublished - September 18, 2026 05:40 pm IST - Pune:The 111th Annual General Meeting of the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) was held via video conferencing on Thursday evening and with only nine nominations received for the nine available seats, all nominees were elected unopposed.Surendra R. Sanas will continue as the RWITC chairman for 2026-27, while Ram H. Shroff retains his position as chairman of the Stewards body. The managing committee for the term comprises K.N. Dhunjibhoy, Vijay B. Shirke, Jaydev M. Mody, Surendra R. Sanas, Ram H. Shroff, Sunil G. Jhangiani, Gautam P. Lala, Shiven Surendranath and Jiyaji Bhosale.Three candidates contested the election for the two seats on the Board of Appeal (BoA) for the 2026-2029 term. Geoffrey B. Nagpal topped the polling with 570 valid votes, followed by Zinia Lawyer (380) and Shivlal R. Daga (311).
