The Maldives has repaid a USD 150 million loan to India by settling the final tranche this week. The State Bank of India had subscribed to these treasury bills in 2019, which were extended six times. India bore the interest payments on the USD 150 million treasury bills over the past five years. This interest settlement amounted to approximately USD 45 million for the Indian government.
