The centre-backs formed Spurs’ defensive partnership on Tuesday and, despite conceding three, De Zerbi was left impressed.Speaking to the official Tottenham website, the Spurs boss said: “I am very happy with the squad. I have really specific players, even the centre backs. At Liverpool, Tosin and Senesi played really well. I am really happy.”De Zerbi explains what Spurs need to improveThe Tottenham boss also spoke about the Lilywhites’ winless run so far this season, highlighting the areas where he believes his side can improve.He added: “We have to improve in everything… We can improve in the qualities of the play. I think we created more chances (at Anfield) than the other games. Liverpool played with courage so there was more space (for us) to attack.”While Spurs are in search of a goal in the Premier League, they did manage a first goal against top-flight opposition on Tuesday against the Reds.Tottenham were also very dangerous, creating multiple chances and managing an xG of 2.24 from six shots on target. That will leave his side feeling confident ahead of this weekend’s clash against Aston Villa.De Zerbi has now praised the effort against the Reds. He concluded: “We showed a great reaction and we deserved another goal (after the Gakpo goal). In the first 10 or 15 minutes we created two big chances to score.
