Yes, these backpacks would be great for people in total poverty and desperation but most of the time it isn’t clear cut like that, the level of living standard and degree of poverty in developing countries is a spectrum that can fluctuate a lot and I see nothing wrong with the sentiment that people don’t need to be punished in terms of design with “barebones stuff” just because they’re poor
