Its ludicrous, but shouldn't be. My first car I bought with money saved from a part time job. an 89 buick regal with about 85k miles I bought in 1998. How much did it cost me? $900. A sub 10 year old car with less than 100k miles. Adjusted for inflation I paid $1850 in todays money for a 9 year old car sub 100k miles. A car that runs used to be the first major purpose a person makes. It was realistic to save up for them on a part time job while you were in schoole. Shit my buddy drove a 1970 camaro, rusty, but ran fine. He got it for $400. Now kids gotta manage to save up 10k+ or rely on their parents..
