Tagermeen Racing continued to be active at the Keeneland September sale into the auction's fifth session Saturday, going to $1.5 million to acquire a colt by Not This Time (hip 1275) from the Gainesway consignment. The chestnut, bred by Three Chimneys Farm, is out of Ana's Gun (Gun Runner), a half-sister to the dam of GI Kentucky Oaks winner Always a Runner (Gun Runner).“We loved this colt,” said Tagermeen's bloodstock agent Mahmud Mouni. “He has an amazing pedigree. Everybody wants the good horses. It doesn't matter what book they are in. I think this horse deserved that price. He could have been in Book 1 or 2.”Mouni said a trainer has not been chosen for the colt, who will head to Ocala to be broke by Randy Miles.It was the sixth seven-figure purchase for the Tagermeen partnership, which paid $2.8 million for a Gun Runner colt during Monday's first session of the auction.
