Nine-year-old Maltese karting driver Yan Camilleri has secured second place overall in the 2026 ACI Zona 6 Championship’s Mini Gr.3 Under-10 category, earning himself a place in the Coppa Italia final.Yan sealed the championship runner-up spot after finishing second at Kartodromo Minoa in Sicily, recovering from a difficult start to the weekend.After being caught in the slowest pack during qualifying, the young Maltese driver finished fifth in the pre-final before fighting his way back to second place in the final.The result caps off an impressive championship campaign which also saw Yan claim victory at Vittoria in April, winning both the pre-final and final.His performance has now earned him qualification for the Coppa Italia final in Sarno, where qualified drivers from all seven Italian zones will compete.Before that, Yan will head to Viterbo to compete in the Italian Karting Championship and gain further experience against a wider national field.Racing with LenzoKart, Yan will continue representing Malta as he takes the next steps in his young karting career.Best of luck Yan!•
