Satyanarayana Murthy on Tuesday alleged that lakhs of votes had been deleted in the State in the name of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).Addressing a district committee meeting at the party office in Allipuram, Visakhapatnam, he alleged that the BJP-led Union government was seeking to retain power by manipulating electoral rolls.Mr. Murthy also questioned the Centre’s reported GDP estimate of 7.8%, citing remarks he attributed to former finance secretary Subhash Chandra Garg and former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan.He referred to a recent CAG report, which he said had flagged irregularities in expenditure by Union ministries.
