What I mean by that is, he’s clearly talented, clearly he’s got the technical ability.“But it’s like he doesn’t believe he’s going to score and doesn’t believe he’s going to impact the game. Liverpool need more from him.“The rest of the team are starting to disbelieve because every time it goes to him, the tempo slows down.“That means (Bradley) Barcola doesn’t get the ball quick, (Cody) Gakpo doesn’t get the ball quick, it allows Bournemouth to get back.“And when they get back, it slows the whole thing down. Iraola just in front of us was absolutely blowing his top.”After Alexander Isak gave the visitors the lead following the interval, Deeney added: “His brain’s working quicker than his body.Wirtz had the lowest pass accuracy of any Liverpool player during the first halfGetty“He’s not playing free. In the warm-up, he looks unbelievable. It looks effortless, but when he plays, he’s overthinking everything.”Wirtz’s Liverpool strugglesWirtz’s woes have continued into the current campaign after a difficult first season at Anfield. The 23-year-old joined Liverpool form Bayer Leverkusen last summer for a then Premier League record £116.5million.Despite scoring seven goals and providing nine assists in all competitions, he failed to live up to expectations for the Reds.Wirtz is yet to register either a goal or an assist in six matches so far this term. His last goal for the club came in a 3-1 home win over Crystal Palace on April 25.Iraola was visibly frustrated with Wirtz on the touchlineGettyIn contrast, his final season in Germany saw Wirtz score 16 goals and add 15 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.Although his current deal runs until 2030, Bayern Munich have recently been credited with an interest.
