In 1997, actor Paul Newman donated 7.5 acres to Connecticut’s Westport to stop development. Fourteen years later, his land became part of the 39-acre Newman-Poses Nature Preserve. The public preserve protects open space, trails, watercourses, plants and wildlife. The project also reflects Newman’s support for land conservation and remains the only public memorial approved by his family to honor the actor and philanthropist.
