Held up in the early stages, he made smooth headway through the field to lead with a furlong to run, before storming clear under a motionless Tom Marquand to justify even-money favouritism in style.William Haggas has now won three of the last four runnings of that 6f novice, with his two previous winners being the subsequent G2 Minster Stakes hero Elmonjed (Blue Point) in 2023 and Division (Kingman) last year, with the latter having since finished second in the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest and third in the G1 Commonwealth Cup.Only time will tell whether Sharadd can develop into a Pattern-class sprinter in his own right, but he couldn't have made a much better start, with this lengthy, attractive colt having plenty to recommend him on pedigree, too.
