Experian Take the Guesswork Out of Credit Applications With Fast Track Pre-Approvals

Experian today launches Fast Track, a lending innovation designed to transform the pre-approval journey for both consumers and lenders.Powered by enhanced data insights, including Open Banking and advanced affordability information, Fast Track helps people better understand their likelihood of approval before applying for products such as loans and credit cards.People can apply with greater confidence that they will be accepted for a pre-approved offer, face fewer additional checks, and avoid the disappointment of receiving a revised offer - or being declined - later in the application process. For lenders, Fast Track helps reduce unnecessary manual reviews, increase application completion rates and minimise applications that are unlikely to be approved.Previously, people who received a pre-approved marketplace offer for a credit product were still subject to additional affordability and verification checks once they entered the lender’s application journey. This could result in declines, revised offers, requests for further documentation and longer application times.Fast Track helps address this challenge by analysing a wider range of income, affordability and identity data at an earlier stage. As a result, lenders can complete more verification and affordability checks upfront, giving borrowers more certainty, saving them time and reducing the risk of disappointment later in the process.Key partner in the project and early adopter, Lendable, has brought Fast Track to its loan customers, and in testing saw significantly fewer people who were told they were pre-approved stopped during final checks, with a 50% reduction in verification issues. Other lenders are already using Fast Track to improve the customer journey.Edu Castro, Managing Director, Experian Consumer Services UK&I, said: “Consumers want greater certainty when they search for credit, and lenders want to spend less time processing applications which don’t end-up being approved. Fast Track is designed to address both challenges.“By combining traditional eligibility assessments with richer affordability and Open Banking insights, we're helping consumers access more relevant offers with greater confidence, while enabling lenders to streamline application journeys and improve conversion. It's an important step forward in creating a more efficient lending experience for everyone."Chris Meurice, Managing Director at Lendable said: “Lendable was founded to help people get credit and save money, with transparency and accuracy comparing offers the foundations of a better deal.“We have worked with Experian since 2018 to drive the vast improvement that pre-approved offers brought, but we knew that even more could be done to improve the customer experience. Fast Track is the missing link. It brings a new level of confidence for consumers, using the latest advancements in credit technology to remove last-minute rejections and ensure people pay only what they expect.”NoYesLending16 Sep, 2026
