Conferma, the global leader in virtual card technology for business travel, has switched off fax-based virtual card delivery across more than 100 additional countries and territories, meaning hotels in these markets will now receive payment information through digital delivery methods. The move leaves the US as the final phase of Conferma’s global Ditch the Fax programme, scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.Today, approximately 95% of all communications delivered through Conferma are already sent via non-fax methods. Following successful shutdowns across APAC, Europe, Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean, this latest phase extends secure digital delivery across markets in Africa, the Middle East, and South America.Early data from the first regions where fax was retired shows an upward trend in virtual card payment completion – today ~2% higher than at the beginning of 2026.As virtual card adoption continues to grow, how payment details are delivered matters.
