Walt Disney World Resort recently made a significant update to the Hall of Presidents experience at Magic Kingdom Park. This is one of at least four changes to the Liberty Square attraction this year, marking an unusually frequent update cadence for the show, which is typically updated only when a new president is elected in the United States. Here’s what to know before your next visit to the original Central Florida Disney park.The Hall of Presidents reopened after its most recent major refurbishment on June 29, 2025. Walt Disney World Resort relocated the audio-animatronic of President Joe Biden and added a new audio-animatronic of President Donald Trump to mark his return to the White House. Following a trend started under President Biden, Disney shortened the current president’s speech, and President Trump now recites only the Oath of Office during the show.First Hall of Presidents UpdateIn February, Walt Disney World Resort removed a basketball belonging to former President Barack Obama from the Hall of Presidents lobby. The attraction’s waiting area is full of historical artifacts, and President Obama’s basketball was one of many items displayed in a cabinet dedicated to the personal lives and interests of former Commanders in Chief.Credit: DisneyThe basketball, like many other artifacts in the lobby of the Magic Kingdom Park attraction, was on loan from the Barack Obama Presidential Library. The Obama Center opened in Chicago earlier this year, and the museum likely wanted it back for its collection. The campus includes its own basketball court.An image of President John F. Kennedy with White House pony Macaroni has taken over the space where President Obama’s basketball was once displayed. Earlier this year, there was still a photo of President Obama playing basketball in the display case, alongside a plaque explaining his love for the sport.New Additions in MayCredit: DisneyIn May, Walt Disney World Resort added several new objects to the Hall of Presidents lobby, including a dress worn by a First Lady and several new items belonging to Gerald R. Ford and Harry S. Truman.A photo of President Truman in uniform during World War I and a WWI-era mess kit discovered in the basement of his sister’s house were added to the display case, replacing the former section dedicated to President Obama and basketball. The mess kit is on loan from the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum.In the same display case, Walt Disney World Resort also added a photo of President Ford playing football, along with an autographed football that the Detroit Lions presented to the president in 1977. President Ford almost played professionally with the Detroit Lions, but ultimately chose to pursue law, which led him to the presidency.Credit: DisneyLastly, in May, Walt Disney World Resort added a dinner party dress worn by Bess Truman (wife of President Harry S. Truman) to a case of dresses worn by various First Ladies. The display, which replaced items owned by Eleanor Rosalynn Carter (wife of President Jimmy Carter), also includes Bess Truman’s library card.Another Update in JulyIn July, Walt Disney World Resort added another artifact to the case that formerly held President Obama’s basketball: a tennis racket belonging to President George H. W. Bush. The racket was gifted to President Bush by President Roh Tae-woo during a 1992 visit to South Korea, and the case also contains a photo of the two politicians on a tennis court. Like other items in the Hall of Presidents lobby, the tennis racket and photograph are on loan from the George H. W. This dress, as well as an accompanying portrait and hair comb, belonged to Dolley Payne Todd Madison (wife of President James Madison). The items replaced a different dress also owned by Dolley Payne Todd Madison.One More Change in Liberty SquareCredit: DisneyGuests who arrived at Magic Kingdom Park this week found another change to the Hall of Presidents attraction. According to WDWNT, Walt Disney World Resort has added a new gown to the case of First Lady dresses.Interestingly, Walt Disney World Resort did not remove the plaque for the previous gown that occupied the space, which belonged to Lucy Webb Hayes (wife of President Rutherford B. Hayes). This may be a different dress belonging to Lucy Webb Hayes, but it does not have a second identifying sign on the floor like the others.
